BOLD is pleased to announce an exciting internal promotion. Previously acting as Project Manager in our Applied Engineering division, our resident Frenchman Alan Guillemot will be stepping up to take on the position of Composites Technical Lead.
Alan studied Materials Science and Engineering before moving on to a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design. So far, Alan has lived in six different European countries and is happily adapting to life in Spain.
Over the course of seven years, Alan worked for an esteemed Italian company specialising in the production of composite parts for the racing and aerospace industries. Throughout his tenure, he gained experience in manufacturing processes, designing tools and defining production processes for diverse components. He also undertook responsibilities as a project manager and technical office manager, orchestrating and overseeing projects from conception to completion. Being a relatively small company, Alan gained valuable insights into the entire lifecycle of the product, from quotation to design and from procurement to production and quality validation.
The dynamism of BOLD and scope of projects about hypercars and high-level racing appealed to Alan when applying to join the team. Now, fully fledged, his favourite thing about BOLD is the international environment. Alan harnesses skills from his background in production and applies them in new contexts, designing parts in an efficient way to ease production costs and maximise results. His role also involves designing carbon fibre parts for hypercars and formula 1, coaching junior designers, proposing technical solutions, delegate tasks to engineers, manage contact with suppliers and ensure that quality and value are continuously delivered to customers.
In his new role, Alan has additional responsibilities in the technical domain. As technical authority, his focus is to provide expert advice to the designers, striving for excellence in all project deliverables. Alan fosters strong relationships with customers to deliver exceptional value that meets their specific requirements. Working closely with customers, Alan supports them through even the most complex challenges, providing direct support whenever needed. His remit will also involve technical assessments and appraisals of employees, evaluating their performance, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Alan directly supports talent acquisition by conducting technical interviews and collaborates closely with the quality department. He oversees the internal review process and defines key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and enhance the quality of work produced, to meet customer needs.
