A recent development for a customer was a 39 kWh system, operating at 326V nominal voltage, delivering a peak discharge power of 196 kW while weighing just 325kg. We’ve gained certifications which confirm the assurance of compliance with industry regulations and best practices. We have experience developing systems backed by UN38.3, IP67, and RINA certifications, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability. We’re also working towards Lloyds and DNV certifications and expect to retain them in the coming months.

We’re experts in developing systems to maximise space utilisation. We have manufactured enclosures designed to fit within the footprint of a yacht power generator, seamlessly integrating into existing boat configurations without requiring substantial modifications. All systems are designed with flexibility and modularity in mind, seamlessly integrating into a variety of boat models. Adapting to diverse spatial constraints, modular systems allow for placement in various locations, ensuring compatibility with the unique configurations of each individual vessel. We’re developing flexible Energy Storage Systems (ESS) with Modular Scalability Module (MSM), enabling seamless connectivity of multiple packs in series and parallel.

Our modular designs allows for greater flexibility in customising power configurations tailored to different applications, from 39 kWh up to 313 kWh with a maximum of 8 packs.

We apply careful consideration to selecting cells for marine battery systems for our clients. Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cell chemistry, renowned for its superior safety profile compared to Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) alternatives has proven a reliable choice for many of our developments. This inherently safer chemistry ensures peace of mind for both manufacturers and end-users, prioritising safety without compromising performance.

Manufacturing Line: LFP Cells

The higher State of Charge (SOC) range offered by LFP cells translates to better cost efficiency in terms of USD per kWh of usable energy. This allows our clients to deliver superior performance while optimising overall costs, ultimately enhancing the value proposition.

A battery’s cycle life refers to the number of charge and discharge cycles it can undergo while maintaining optimal performance. We have developed systems boasting a high cycle life of over 5,000 cycles and long-term performance, proving reliability and less maintenance costs over time.

Manufacturing Line: Finishing Touches

Our products boast advanced charging technology allowing for charging at 2C, meaning the system is fast charge capable in under 30 minutes. This significantly reduces downtime and maximising operational efficiency for the end-user, enhancing practicality and convenience.

We’re capable of developing products with a Multistring Management System (MMS) that handles the battery system. BOLD is committed to ongoing software enhancements for the Battery Management System (BMS), ensuring that the product remains at the forefront of technological innovation.
